The A&P Wrasse Gi draws inspiration from the striking humphead wrasse—a vibrant reef fish native to the Indo-Pacific. Known by many names across cultures (Māori wrasse, Napoleon fish, so mei, mameng, merer), its unique patterns and colors have long stood out in ocean ecosystems.

Growing up around the islands, reef life has always been a source of creative influence—from color palettes to the subtle textures found in marine life. While the humphead wrasse has no direct ties to jiu jitsu, its bold appearance played a key role in shaping the visual language of this new release.

Drawing inspiration from the striking natural patterns of the wrasse fish, this workwear uniform blends functional martial arts design with oceanic artistry. Available in two color offerings consisting of a tonal approach, this serves as a canvas for intricate inner panel detailing that echoes the flowing, organic lines and iridescent textures found on the wrasse’s scales.
