Paying homage to the Ancient Hellenic combat art of Pankration, the Athens kimono is a visual expression of this ancient “open handed” combat system.

Touted as the “first mixed martial art” Pankration would see unarmed combatants take stage to fight in a mix of striking, wrestling and ground based combat, with a victor named through submission of their opponent. Much like modern day martial arts, Pankration athletes were skilled fighters with a view to exploit weaknesses, focus on reactive and offensive fight mechanics and strategic body positioning to win.

The Athens kimono features imagery, hues, and design aspects to highlight the harmony in both the sports’ beauty, and its chaos.

Set against the backdrop of a white, 500 gram pearl weave jacket and 10oz twill pant, a mix of both printed and embroidered embellishments prevail to create a visually stunning, and aggressive end result.

Available in white, the Athens kimono will release alongside a capsule apparel and no gi collection, with complementary designs and tones.
