The Shoyoroll Comp Standard XIV Q2 was originally dropped online in limited quantities as a standard weight kimono on August 1, 2014, with a larger online release of their competition "LITE" version three weeks later on August 25, 2014.

Description

This Comp Standard was supposedly released in two variants: A regular weight version for everyday training and an ultra lightweight version for competition. The exact differences between these variants is unclear. The regular version was released in limited quantities. Shoyoroll described it:

This a very small run of gis and we have our bigger order of COMP STANDARD SUMMER LITES landing next week as well for those who are not able to scoop up one of these.

We DID NOT promote this release to much due to a small amount of stock. Our COMP LITE SUMMER will be a bigger order.

The LITE variant was a full release available in normal quantities. If you have a Comp Standard XIV Q2, it's most likely that you have the LITE version. Shoyoroll described it:

The Comp Summer LITE kimono is part of our athlete series. This ultra-lightweight gi makes a perfect competition gi with the average weight ranging from 2.5 lbs to 3.9 lbs.

This kimono was created to be a competition gi, not to be used for everyday training.
